The reserve that the lodge is situated in is a big 5 game reserve. This 24 000 hectare endangered species reserve has international recognition for introducing 28 Black Rhinos as well as Lions which resulted in turning it into a Big 5 game reserve. The reserve has over 70 types of mammals including; elephant, white and black rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, wild dog, spotted hyena, brown hyena, cheetah, African wildcat, serval, lynx, black back jackal, giraffe, zebra and over 450 species of birds.
Lodge:
The main lodge features a cosy dining room and lounge as well as a bar and open fire place. Attached to the lodge is a thatched gazebo and a swimming pool.
Chalets:
The African Spirit Game Lodge also offers accommodation in chalets. There are 4 Chalets that are intimate and fully serviced. The chalets can accommodate 2 people on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and consist of the following features:

Self-catering:
The self catering accommodation is a two and half bedroom house that sleeps 6 people. As well as the bedrooms, the house features a lounge area, dinning area, a fully equipped kitchen. Linen, bedding, bath towels and a reasonable quantity of firewood is supplied.

Directions:
- Travel on the N2 in the direction of Mkuze
- Once you reach Mkuze, turn towards Bangonomo
- Travel for 1.1 km and turn left
- Travel a further 11.7 km on a gravel road and through the gate of the Zululand Rhino Reserve
- Turn left at the sign towards the lodge.
